Chapter 235: Blacklisted
Wang Haoran knew Liu Yue wanted to thank him for “playing matchmaker.” However, if he were to dine with Liu Yue as himself, it would just be a meal, nothing more. He wasn’t interested in going, so he politely declined, “I have something to do tomorrow.”
“Then the day after tomorrow.”
“I have plans that day too.”
“Hmm?” Liu Yue raised an eyebrow, maintaining her usual distant demeanor. “Not giving me face?”
“No,” Wang Haoran shook his head, offering an explanation, “If we, a man and a woman, go out to eat and are seen, people might talk. You wouldn’t want that, right, Professor Liu?”
“Did I say I was inviting you alone?” Liu Yue replied.
“There are others?” Wang Haoran was surprised.
“I invited my Seventh Sister and Sixth Sister,” Liu Yue explained.
Three sisters in one place? No way!
Wang Haoran silently panicked but stayed calm outwardly. “I really have plans tomorrow!”
“Cancel them. I insist on treating you to this meal, or your master might say I mistreated you. It’s settled!” Liu Yue declared firmly.
“Then… thank you, Master’s Wife,” Wang Haoran agreed, seeing her resolve.
“No need to be polite among family.”
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave?”
“Go ahead.” Liu Yue waved her hand, signaling Wang Haoran could leave.
After leaving the office, Wang Haoran immediately called Qiu Qianwei.
“Dear, what’s up?” Qiu Qianwei’s gentle voice greeted him.
“Did you tell your Fifth Sister Liu Yue about us?” Wang Haoran asked.
“I didn’t mention anything. Except for Fourth Sister accidentally finding out, Fifth Sister and Sixth Sister don’t know,” Qiu Qianwei replied.
“Your Sixth Sister Ji Shuiyao doesn’t know?” Wang Haoran inquired further.
“Of course not. I didn’t tell her, so how would she know?” Qiu Qianwei responded.
“How is your relationship with your Sixth Sister Ji Shuiyao now?”
“It’s good. But whenever I ask her who she has a crush on, she keeps it secret and won’t tell me.”
Gathering pieces of information, Wang Haoran understood the situation better.
Fourth Sister Bu Feiyan roams the world, and since their encounter on PJ Island, she’s kept quiet about him and Qiu Qianwei.
Besides Bu Feiyan, Sixth Sister Ji Shuiyao knows about his relationship with Qiu Qianwei. However, Ji Shuiyao acts as if she doesn’t know and hides her admiration for him from her other sisters.
Fifth Sister Liu Yue remains completely unaware.
Put simply, Wang Haoran’s entanglements with Qiu Qianwei, Ji Shuiyao, and Liu Yue are complicated but presently stable.
That’s if Bu Feiyan doesn’t come causing trouble.
He still needed to be cautious about the upcoming meal with all three sisters present.
Qiu Qianwei, with her favorability rating of 95, is easygoing and easy to appease.
Ji Shuiyao, with a favorability rating of 70, is moderately obedient.
But Liu Yue’s thoughts and reactions are unpredictable.
In Liu Yue’s eyes, Wang Haoran, her student, is of a younger generation.
If Liu Yue finds out Wang Haoran has been “overstepping his bounds,” she might have an unpredictable reaction.
While these thoughts raced through his mind, Wang Haoran left the finance department building and walked along the campus road.
At that moment, an electric tricycle delivering packages zipped past him.
Instinctively, Wang Haoran glanced at the figure on the tricycle.
It was Su Chen, the protagonist of the “Courier Tycoon” flow.
Even with just a quick look, Wang Haoran noticed the usual confident expression missing from Su Chen’s face.
It seemed Su Chen faced obstacles while completing a special delivery.
Su Chen noticed Wang Haoran as he passed and slowed down his electric bike, glancing back with eyes filled with envy and resentment.
“He’s just a rich kid, what’s so special about him? I have the Tycoon System. I’ll succeed and have a school belle on my left and a goddess on my right, reaching the pinnacle of life!” Su Chen fumed mentally as he rode away from Wang Haoran’s sight.
Watching Su Chen depart, Wang Haoran took out his phone and called Cheng Rui.
If Su Chen hadn’t appeared before him, he might have ignored this person for a while.
Since he had free time, he decided to address the issue with Su Chen.
Although Su Chen was blacklisted among Qingling’s beauties, there were numerous places to deliver packages worldwide.
“It’s surprising you remembered to call,” Cheng Rui’s voice came over, tinged with jealousy and resentment.
It had been almost two months since Wang Haoran last contacted Cheng Rui.
“Isn’t it because of your instructions, Madam? You said not to bother you unless it was important,” Wang Haoran replied.
I spoke in reverse; I said not to bother but hoped you’d contact me more, even at night.
Cheng Rui thought privately but didn’t express it, merely asking, “What instructions do you have this time?”
“You work in internet trade, right? You should have connections in the courier industry?”
“The company holds shares in several major courier companies.”
“So, blacklisting someone in the courier industry should be easy, right?”
“What kind of identity? Are they someone important?”
“A courier.”
“Going that far to blacklist a courier? Why?”
“Just follow my instructions.”
“Understood.”
“That’s all for now. I’ll send you the detailed information later.”
Beep beep…
Before Cheng Rui could continue, the call ended.
Listening to the busy tone, Cheng Rui sighed.
He never contacted her for anything but business. It was clear he wasn’t interested in her personally.
Was it due to her previous marriage?
Sigh.
Cheng Rui felt disheartened, unable to change the past.
She regretted marrying Ma Hongsheng purely for ambition.
If only she were single and free now, how wonderful that would be…
…
Su Chen rode his electric bike toward a courier sorting station, preparing to load packages onto his tricycle for delivery.
“Su Chen, stop what you’re doing,” the supervisor approached and said.
Su Chen continued moving packages, replying, “It’s still light out. I want to deliver another batch.”
The supervisor’s tone grew stern, “I told you to stop. Don’t you get it?”
Su Chen was puzzled, “Supervisor, what’s happening?”
The supervisor continued, “You still ask what’s wrong? Don’t you realize how many negative reviews you’ve received recently?”
Su Chen quickly explained, “Those are malicious reviews. My work ethic is fine; it’s not my fault.”
The supervisor said harshly, “Stop making excuses. One or two negative reviews might be malicious. But seven or eight? That’s your own doing. We can’t keep you here. Find another job.”
Seeing the supervisor’s stance, Su Chen felt displeased, “Fine, I’ll leave. I don’t want to stay here. If this place doesn’t want me, others will.” He tossed the tricycle keys and left nonchalantly.
Having recently received negative reviews and failing even one special delivery, continuing at Qingling University became pointless.
Su Chen was more than eager to leave.
