Chapter 219: Do You Think You're a Stock God?
Liu Yue’s computer was the main terminal in the computer lab. By using it, she could display the screens of the students’ computers for everyone to see. With a swift motion, she turned on the multimedia system, projecting the main computer’s screen onto the large screen at the front of the classroom.
The students looked up, their eyes fixed on the images unfolding on the screen.
The review began with Computer No. 1, where Liu Hua was seated.
Liu Hua’s initial account balance of 5000 had dwindled to about 4500, a loss rate of roughly 10%.
Liu Yue glanced over, her lips forming harsh, cold words, “A complete idiot, case closed.”
Liu Hua’s face turned dark with shame, but the classroom remained silent. Most students were struggling with their first attempts at trading, and the outcomes weren’t very promising.
The atmosphere in the computer lab grew tense.
Following Liu Hua, it was the turn of other students.
Liu Yue displayed each student’s results on the screen via the projector.
Many of the subsequent students hadn’t fared much better than Liu Hua. Their loss rates ranged between -1% and -3%.
Liu Yue’s displeasure was evident on her face.
Soon, it was Mu Zhaozhao’s turn.
Her data showed a profit rate of 6%, hitting an excellent level.
Next up was Wen Jing.
Wen Jing’s performance was even better, reaching a profit rate of 7.1%.
Liu Yue’s disposition softened, offering praise to Wen Jing before continuing with her evaluation.
After Mu Zhaozhao and Wen Jing, while no one else showed a negative profit rate, none exceeded the 6% profit threshold.
Liu Yue couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment until she reached Lin Chen’s data, which piqued her curiosity once again.
She knew her brother well. Just two months prior, Lin Chen had turned one million into three billion in investments.
In her eyes, Lin Chen’s data should have been stellar, with the only question being how impressive it would be.
As she proceeded with high expectations, Lin Chen’s data appeared—profit rate of -26%!
Even Liu Hua’s -5% had been considered extremely poor.
Remembering past practical classes, the worst performance had been a loss of 18.3%.
Lin Chen’s -26% set a new record for the worst performance in this class’s history.
Seeing this outcome, Liu Yue could not conceal her disappointment and immediately criticized, “Being overly arrogant and self-assured is even more unacceptable than being unknowing. I hope Lin Chen learns from this lesson.”
The surrounding students turned their gazes upon Lin Chen, a sense of pity in their eyes.
Is this it?
Is this the level of the legendary prodigy?!
Lin Chen felt deeply aggrieved due to the interference from Mu Zhaozhao, which had caused his stock to plummet suddenly. He had listed his stock for sale and managed to sell it only moments before the practical class ended, leading to massive losses, further compounded by the lack of time to adjust his strategy.
Lin Chen considered defending himself but, seeing Mu Zhaozhao’s innocent expression, he decided against it.
After all, how could he find fault with such a lovely girl?
With this resolve, Lin Chen kept quiet, accepting responsibility for what transpired.
As student after student took their turn, Wang Haoran’s results eventually came up.
However, Liu Yue didn’t immediately project Wang Haoran’s data onto the screen. Instead, she addressed the class:
“Confidence is important, but it must be paired with self-awareness and openness to others’ opinions. Blind arrogance serves no one; always strive for a humble attitude toward learning. Keep this in mind.”
While she didn’t mention him by name, it was evident that her words were directed at Wang Haoran.
As Liu Yue’s remarks hung in the air, the students’ eyes shifted towards Wang Haoran.
It was clear Professor Liu Yue was referring to him.
After giving the class a moment to reflect, Liu Yue finally projected Wang Haoran’s practical class results onto the white screen.
Simultaneously, she glanced at the synchronized display on her computer.
To her amazement, Wang Haoran hadn’t made further trades because several stocks he purchased remained unsold and continued trending upward.
He had bought in at 8270, and in a short span, the value had risen to 9866!
Moreover, with each passing second, the 9866 figure was climbing higher.
“Wow!”
The classroom erupted with gasps and murmurs of disbelief as students processed Wang Haoran’s results.
Expressions of astonishment appeared on many faces, including Lin Chen’s.
In just over an hour, Wang Haoran managed to increase his 5000 to 9866.
Lin Chen acknowledged that even with his master-level stock trading skills, he couldn’t replicate such rapid success.
How did Wang Haoran achieve this?
Was it pure luck?
Or was there some unseen trick at play?
These thoughts swirled in Lin Chen’s mind.
Since his interactions with Wang Haoran, he’d witnessed feats that defied explanation, from magic tricks to unparalleled piano skills, and now an obvious knack for stock trading.
Mastery in three distinct fields simultaneously—an ordinary individual could not achieve this.
On the podium, Liu Yue was so taken aback that she struggled to articulate her thoughts for a moment.
[Ding, the heroine Liu Yue’s favorability towards the host has returned to 20 (very friendly).]
Upon receiving this system notification, Wang Haoran casually teased Liu Yue, “Professor Liu, I told you, this stock would continue to rise.”
Liu Yue turned her gaze to him, retorting, “You got lucky; surviving in the market requires more than luck. No one’s luck holds forever.”
Wang Haoran maintained his stance, “It’s not luck; it’s skill.”
Slightly pursing her lips, Liu Yue replied, “Based on what I’ve seen so far, you’re top in the class and among the best I’ve ever encountered, but I wouldn’t say you’re extraordinary.”
She added, “You’re overly confident with significant problems in buying and selling operations. You’re gambling on high stakes; if you’re lucky, you earn. If not, it’s disastrous.”
Wang Haoran confidently replied, “Professor Liu, that won’t happen.”
In response, Wang Haoran operated his computer and sold all his shares.
The stocks were quickly sold, and his account immediately reflected 10230.
Watching the transaction unfold on screen, Liu Yue frowned and reprimanded:
“I mentioned that after the time is up, trading activity is forbidden. Did you ignore my directive?”
Unfazed, Wang Haoran answered, “This stock is about to fall. Without selling now, I’d face a total loss.”
Liu Yue laughed skeptically, countering, “Rise or fall at your command—is that how stocks work? Do you think you’re a stock god?!”
