Chapter 211: Rowing
Bu Feiyan carefully reviewed the surveillance footage of Wang Haoran leaving the villa, searching for any clues. During his departure, Wang Haoran dropped something and quickly picked it up—a detail that caught her attention. On closer inspection, she realized it was a paper object, specifically a plane ticket. The high resolution of the surveillance video allowed her to clearly see the details on the ticket, including the time, origin, and destination.
PJ Island is known as a romantic getaway for couples. If Wang Haoran traveled there without the Seventh Sister, he must have gone with another woman! This infuriated Bu Feiyan.
Seething with anger, she left the hilltop villa and headed straight for PJ Island. Determined to deal with Wang Haoran, she decided that not only would she confront him, but the woman accompanying him wouldn’t escape unscathed either. She had plans to publicly humiliate her.
…
PJ Island is situated in a tropical region, abundant with greenery, beaches, and bays. Viewed from above, it resembles a green pearl amidst the ocean and is one of the world’s famous tourist spots. The island boasts rich resources such as rubber, coconuts, cashews, and pineapples, along with shrimp farms and artificial pearl farms. It offers a variety of water activities, including swimming, diving, water skiing, canoeing, and windsurfing.
During peak tourist season, the island bustles with visitors of all ages, but it is particularly popular with couples and married pairs. It’s not uncommon to see couples taking wedding photos on the beach.
Upon arriving, Wang Haoran noticed that Ji Shuiyao was feeling a bit airsick and needed some rest. Once the afternoon rolled around, Ji Shuiyao finally felt better.
“I’m sorry for causing you trouble,” Ji Shuiyao apologized.
Wang Haoran shook his head with a smile. “It’s no trouble. We’re here to relax, so there’s no rush.” As he glanced out the window at the beautiful tropical scenery, he couldn’t wait to start the day’s activities. “Would you like to rest some more here at the hotel, or…”
Ji Shuiyao quickly interrupted, “Let’s go out together.”
“I’ll just change my outfit,” Wang Haoran said, stepping out for a moment. When he returned, he was dressed in sunglasses, beach shorts, and a vest.
Ji Shuiyao, still in the same dress she had traveled in, carried equipment meant for collecting samples, causing Wang Haoran to wonder if she had come here to study the local environment.
Trying to be understanding, Wang Haoran asked, “Aren’t you going to change?”
Ji Shuiyao looked a bit confused. “Change into what?”
Amused, Wang Haoran suggested, “If we’re going to enjoy water activities, perhaps a swimsuit would be more suitable.”
Ji Shuiyao blushed, clearly embarrassed. “I’m not used to that, so I’ll stay as I am.”
Wang Haoran accepted her decision. “As you wish.”
In the hotel lobby, Wang Haoran took a moment to check a travel guide on his phone and decided on a destination. “How about we go rowing at Crescent Bay?”
“Sure,” Ji Shuiyao agreed.
Spotting a sightseeing car outside the hotel, they boarded it and headed towards Crescent Bay.
Meanwhile, an unforeseen visitor arrived at the hotel they had checked in at.
“I’m with the M Country LB Investigation Bureau, pursuing an international criminal. Have you seen this person?” Bu Feiyan declared with a deceptive ID, adopting a false identity, and asked the hotel receptionist in fluent foreign language.
As a skilled international assassin, Bu Feiyan was fluent in many languages and conversed with ease.
The receptionist scrutinized the ID and, finding nothing suspicious, believed Bu Feiyan’s claim. “Yes, I have seen him. He left with a beautiful woman earlier.”
The pairing of the handsome Wang Haoran and the attractive Ji Shuiyao was hard to miss. Thus, when Bu Feiyan showed the receptionist a photo of Wang Haoran, she instantly recognized him.
“Which way did they go?” Bu Feiyan queried further.
“I overheard them mentioning they would be going to Crescent Bay for rowing,” the receptionist answered.
Bu Feiyan nodded with determination, “Thank you for your help. If we apprehend him, a reward will be provided.”
The receptionist nodded in a daze as Bu Feiyan stepped outside, waited a bit, and hopped onto another sightseeing car.
“The target just boarded sightseeing car number 18,” a nearby man, posing as a tourist, discreetly reported through a mic on his collar. A small Black Mamba tattoo revealed his true allegiance.
…
Arriving at Crescent Bay, the views were stunning, dotted with fascinating karst formations that presented nature’s remarkable creations. Distantly, couples enjoyed themselves on small boats, engaged in playful laughter, or indulging in intimate moments regardless of onlookers.
Ji Shuiyao glanced at the sight and felt her cheeks heat up.
Wang Haoran noticed Ji Shuiyao’s flustered expression and chuckled internally. He rented a small boat and soon they were on the water, merging into the captivating surroundings.
Instead of actively rowing, Wang Haoran lay at the bow deck, basking in the sun, allowing their boat to float with the current.
While Ji Shuiyao originally intended to use her collection tools, the breathtaking scenery soon drew her in, encouraging her to savor this rare moment of peace and relaxation, pushing aside her usual pursuits.
Suddenly, a splash disrupted the tranquility.
Ji Shuiyao, stationed at the stern, heard the sound originating from the bow and rushed forward to investigate.
Wang Haoran was missing, with ripples distorting the water beside the boat’s bow—indicating that he had fallen overboard.
However, Ji Shuiyao remained relatively calm as she had witnessed Wang Haoran’s swimming prowess before. Yet, worried for his safety, she called out, “Wang Haoran?”
The previously turbulent water quieted down, turning placid with no movement discernible.
Genuinely concerned, Ji Shuiyao quickly removed her shoes and dove elegantly into the waters.
After a few tension-filled minutes, Ji Shuiyao emerged, dragging the unconscious form of Wang Haoran, and struggled to haul him back aboard their small vessel.
Though fatigued, Ji Shuiyao was an adept swimmer, otherwise, she might not have succeeded in rescuing him.
Despite her exhaustion, she immediately began vigorously shaking Wang Haoran and pleaded near his ear, “Wake up! Please wake up, don’t frighten me like this!”
Wang Haoran remained unresponsive.
Growing more anxious, Ji Shuiyao commenced CPR, applying what she had learned from books. Though inexperienced, she performed the procedure correctly.
Despite her efforts, Wang Haoran remained unconscious.
As despair encroached and tears threatened to spill, Ji Shuiyao’s only recourse was to persist with the first aid measures.
Approaching to administer more CPR, her movements paused when she suddenly felt a secure grip around her neck, halting her in place.
