After leaving the internet café, Wang Haoran took out his phone to call Cui Xiao and check on the situation, only to find it out of battery. Noticing a nearby service offering shared power banks, he used one to charge his phone. Soon, it powered back on.

There were several missed calls, mostly from Cui Xiao. Wang Haoran immediately returned Cui Xiao’s call.

“Are you okay? Where are you now?” Cui Xiao’s voice was a mix of tension and relief, indicating she had been worried.

“I’m fine, just wandering around on the street,” Wang Haoran replied.

“Don’t stay outside. Find a safe place quickly,” Qiu Qianwei suggested. “I’ll send you an address. Go there directly, and I’ll meet you.”

“Got it.”

After the call, Qiu Qianwei sent an address, a villa situated on a hilltop. Wang Haoran called Qin Yunhan, Xu Muyan, and others who knew him as the Piano God, reassuring them that the bounty issue had been resolved and he was safe.

With that settled, Wang Haoran tried to hail a taxi to head to the villa. However, it was late, and the narrow street was quiet, with no taxis in sight. He checked the map and found himself near downtown. Deciding to cut through a nearby alley to reach a busier area and catch a taxi there, he navigated the dimly lit path using his X-ray vision.

As he walked deeper into the alley, he heard footsteps approaching.

Tap, tap, tap.

Tap, tap, tap.

These were the sounds of three people moving at high speed, about two hundred meters away. Only martial artists could move like that. Surprised, Wang Haoran considered that they might be coming for him. As their footsteps drew nearer, he jumped up to the rooftop of a two-story building, an easy feat with his internal energy.

From his vantage point, Wang Haoran soon realized the three people weren’t after him. Instead, it was a chase. The person pursuing was a woman with an impressive figure, while the two being chased were broad-shouldered men. However, the woman’s speed outmatched theirs easily. With a swift leap, she intercepted the two men, a short sword glinting in her hand.

“How much were you paid? We’ll offer double, no, five times!” the men pleaded, their fear evident.

“I charge only one dollar to kill a person,” the woman’s voice was cold.

“Who… who are you?” asked the terrified men.

“My code name is ‘Lady Judge.’ I come in the name of nine girls who chose death over dishonor, to claim your lives,” she said with an eerie calmness.

“The top female assassin, Lady Judge!” The men were stricken with more fear. Unlike ordinary assassins, Lady Judge targeted those with egregious crimes and had a flawless record.

Knowing their fate was sealed, the men reached for their waists, but before they could act, the assassin darted past them. Without breaking a sweat, she sheathed her sword, leaving each man with a fatal wound under the dim alley lights.

Just as she was about to leave, a loud “clang” made her turn. One of the men had attempted to fire a gun, knocked aside by something—saved unexpectedly from behind.

The female assassin, bewildered, quickly finished off the surviving man, striking his neck. Checking his body, she discovered his heart was on the opposite side, explaining the near miss.

“Who aided me?” she called out, scanning the area. Realizing the unseen savior had struck the weapon with incredible skill, she sought to express gratitude. But met with silence, she could only offer thanks into the night, her voice carrying respect.

Satisfied, she left swiftly.

Once the scene cleared, Wang Haoran emerged from his hiding spot. He had intervened, knowing justice needed to be served. Though a villain in name, he understood his moral line, choosing to help against the true devils. Then, he deftly left the scene to avoid entanglements.

Half an hour later, he arrived at the villa where Qiu Qianwei awaited him with Cui Xiao. As soon as she saw him, Qiu Qianwei rushed over, embracing him tightly. Words were unnecessary; their mutual relief and affection were clear in their eyes.

Under the moonlit sky, their faces drew closer. Seeing this, Cui Xiao covered her eyes, respectfully leaving the two alone. She didn’t say goodbye—she knew they were lost in each other’s company.

Together, Wang Haoran and Qiu Qianwei entered the villa, closing the door behind them. They went to the living room’s sofa, knowing the housekeeper was away and the vast villa was theirs for the night, uninterrupted.
