Chapter 144: The Soldier King's Mental Breakdown
“Alright, let’s stay a bit longer,” Tang Bingyun nodded. Feeling somewhat bored, she walked over to the bedside table and picked up some fruit from the basket:
“There are strawberries, apricots, and grapes here. Which one would you like?”
“Grapes, please.”
Tang Bingyun nodded and went to the bathroom in the ward to rinse the grapes with water.
“They’re very sweet, try them,” Tang Bingyun said, holding a plate of grapes. After tasting one herself, she offered them to Wang Haoran.
“I’m too lazy to wash my hands. Could you feed me?” Wang Haoran suggested.
“You’re so lazy…” Tang Bingyun softly complained, but nonetheless picked up a grape and fed it to Wang Haoran.
“Isn’t it sweet?” Tang Bingyun asked with a smile.
“With such a beautiful woman feeding me, even if it were sour, it would taste sweet,” Wang Haoran replied with a grin.
Tang Bingyun was taken aback, then smiled warmly, surprised:
“Just a few days apart, and you’ve become so eloquent?”
“I’m just speaking the truth,” Wang Haoran said earnestly.
“Here’s another grape as a reward,” Tang Bingyun laughed happily.
“So sweet, I want more.”
“Alright.”
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 100 villain points!]
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 200 villain points!]
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 300 villain points!]
…
Yan Guishan, who was pretending to be asleep, felt like he was being force-fed dog food by the couple’s laughter and joy next to him. He tried to block out their sounds, but they seemed to seep into his ears relentlessly.
Yan Guishan felt miserable inside.
Wang Haoran listened to the system’s continuous notifications, feeling overjoyed.
After finishing the grapes, he calculated that he had earned a total of 2100 villain points.
The villain points were accumulating nicely.
Wang Haoran told Tang Bingyun he wanted more grapes, and she washed another plate for him.
However, this time, Wang Haoran didn’t receive any rewards.
Yan Guishan had become numb from the constant irritation, now full on dog food, building up a resistance.
This tactic was no longer effective.
It seemed the dosage needed to be increased.
Wang Haoran pondered for a moment and then said to Tang Bingyun:
“I’m full, I don’t want to eat anymore.”
“Okay,” Tang Bingyun nodded, turning around to place the fruit plate on the bedside table.
But as she turned back, she felt someone embrace her from behind.
Tang Bingyun naturally knew it was Wang Haoran.
“What… what are you doing, taking advantage of me?”
Tang Bingyun instinctively broke free from the embrace, her heart fluttering, but she outwardly pretended to be angry, scolding Wang Haoran for being forward.
“My courage isn’t as bold as yours, is it?” Wang Haoran looked at Tang Bingyun meaningfully.
“What… what do you mean?” Tang Bingyun avoided Wang Haoran’s eyes, feeling a bit guilty.
“What do I mean, don’t you understand?”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about…” Tang Bingyun feigned ignorance.
“Don’t understand? Let me remind you, that day you invited me to a couple’s restaurant for dinner,” Wang Haoran said slowly.
“You?!” Tang Bingyun could no longer suppress her inner panic and looked at Wang Haoran in shock:
“What do you know?”
“I know everything I should know,” Wang Haoran stated confidently.
“I’m sorry,” Tang Bingyun felt as though Wang Haoran was reproaching her, so she couldn’t help but lower her head.
“Is a simple apology enough? You should at least give me an explanation, right?” Wang Haoran demanded, as if questioning her.
“It was a moment of confusion,” Tang Bingyun confessed with both shyness and guilt:
“My grandfather wants me to get engaged to Yan Guishan soon, saying he wants a great-grandchild. I don’t like Yan Guishan at all, I’m reluctant, even if it means death, I’m unwilling to get engaged to him.”
[Ding, the host has deliberately guided, causing protagonist Yan Guishan to be deeply hurt by female lead Tang Bingyun, earning 500 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -20, host’s villain aura +20!]
“But my grandfather is adamant, and in a moment of desperation, I thought of having a baby to make my grandfather give up on the marriage idea. This way, my grandfather can have a great-grandchild, and I don’t have to marry Yan Guishan.”
[Ding, the host has deliberately guided, causing protagonist Yan Guishan to be heartbroken by female lead Tang Bingyun, earning 800 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -40, host’s villain aura +40!]
Wang Haoran’s heart skipped a beat, fearing he might unexpectedly become a father, so he quickly asked:
“Did you get pregnant?”
“No, I didn’t,” Tang Bingyun blushed.
“So, you were using me as a tool, using me and then discarding me without even a word,” Wang Haoran snorted.
Tang Bingyun, panicked, quickly explained:
“I didn’t think that way, I just felt I couldn’t face you, so I kept it a secret. I’m not a casual person. If I didn’t like you, I wouldn’t do such a thing no matter what…”
[Ding, female lead Tang Bingyun confessed to the host, earning 800 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -40, host’s villain aura +40!]
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 300 villain points!]
Wang Haoran was delighted, reaping a large wave of rewards.
However, he felt that Yan Guishan still had potential to be exploited.
“So, you’re saying I’m a casual person?” Wang Haoran feigned displeasure.
“The situation is beyond remedy. How do you want me to compensate you? Just let me know,” Tang Bingyun said, a bit despondent.
“When do you finish work today?”
“Around eight or nine o’clock, I guess.”
“Alright, then treat me to dinner tonight,” Wang Haoran hinted.
Tang Bingyun seemed a bit confused, as if she couldn’t believe it.
Wang Haoran added, “At the couple’s restaurant from last time.”
With the conversation reaching this point, Tang Bingyun couldn’t deny understanding.
And as for Yan Guishan, the player, he understood even more.
“You mischievous boy, I thought you were really angry,” Tang Bingyun said with tears and laughter, pretending to be annoyed.
“Aunt Tang, are you going to treat me to dinner or not? Give me an answer,” Wang Haoran pressed.
“Still calling me Aunt Tang?! Call me Elder Sister Bingyun,” Tang Bingyun laughed.
Her words clearly indicated she had accepted Wang Haoran’s suggestion.
Yan Guishan, pretending to be asleep, felt extremely uncomfortable overhearing this.
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 500 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -20, host’s villain aura +20!]]
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 600 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -30, host’s villain aura +30!]
“Sister Bingyun,” Wang Haoran, who was actually older, naturally didn’t want to address her as Tang Bingyun suggested.
“Hmph, you’re younger than me, so you should call me Elder Sister Bingyun,” Tang Bingyun smiled, correcting him.
“Sister Bingyun,” Wang Haoran insisted.
“Sigh, I give up, call me whatever you like.”
“Then see you tonight.”
“Okay.”
“But you have to listen to me then.”
“Listen to you about what?”
“What do you think?” Wang Haoran gave her a look.
“Hmph!” Tang Bingyun, realizing belatedly, finally understood.
“Is that not okay? Then forget it, let’s cancel tonight’s dinner,” Wang Haoran said directly.
“No, I promise you, I promise!” Tang Bingyun quickly agreed.
But as soon as she spoke, she realized she had lost her cool and felt deeply embarrassed.
And with Tang Bingyun’s words, Wang Haoran received two more system notifications.
[Ding, the host has caused protagonist Yan Guishan’s mindset to become unbalanced, earning 1000 villain points, Yan Guishan’s protagonist aura -50, host’s villain aura +50!]
[Ding, Yan Guishan’s mindset has collapsed, protagonist aura shattered, losing protagonist status.]
There’s no more fun to be had…
Wang Haoran glanced at Yan Guishan, who was still pretending to be asleep, feeling a bit disinterested.
