As night fell, Yang Jingwan returned home after a long day at work.

In the living room, Yang Tai and Li Manli were engrossed in a TV drama, while Su Lang was busy cooking in the kitchen.

“Jingwan, don’t you usually get off work earlier? Why are you coming home after seven today?” Li Manli asked her daughter, still focused on the melodramatic series.

Yang Jingwan appeared a bit tired, but there was an undeniable excitement in her eyes. “Mom, you won’t believe it, but I sold 19 houses today!”

Indeed, a total of 19 houses. She sold 12 in the morning and another 7 in the afternoon.

“Are you joking?” Li Manli chuckled, doubtful.

“You used to say selling a few houses a month was an impressive feat. How could you sell 19 houses in a single day?” Yang Tai also looked skeptical.

“Why would I lie to you? I really did sell 19 houses!” Yang Jingwan insisted confidently.

Yang Tai and Li Manli glanced at each other, their interest piqued, and immediately turned their attention from the TV to their daughter.

“What’s going on here?” Li Manli asked, sensing something unusual.

Yang Jingwan peeked towards the kitchen, ensuring Su Lang was occupied and not listening, then lowered her voice. “Young Master Wang introduced the clients to me!”

“So that’s it,” Yang Tai and Li Manli exclaimed, their faces lighting up with understanding and delight.

“How much commission will you earn from selling 19 houses?” Li Manli asked eagerly.

“I roughly calculated it, and it’s around 1.5 to 1.6 million.”

“Oh my, making so much in just one day! My projects take nearly a year, and at best, I might earn two to three million,” Yang Tai marveled.

“Well, it’s not like I can sell this many houses every day; it’s just a one-time occurrence.”

“Jingwan, a one-time deal with Young Master Wang does not sound right. Are you being silly?” Li Manli exclaimed in exasperation.

“Mom, you’re overthinking this. I didn’t make any deals,” Yang Jingwan retorted, irritated.

“Then Young Master Wang introduced so many clients to you without expecting anything?” Li Manli asked, incredulous.

“He just… held my hand for a moment,” Yang Jingwan replied, her face turning rosy.

“Do you think I’m senile? Just tell me honestly, how close have you two got?” Li Manli asked quietly.

“We’re just ordinary friends, nothing more.”

“All right, if you don’t want to say, I won’t press,” Li Manli said, avoiding further questions to prevent being overheard by Su Lang.

Feeling somewhat cornered, Yang Jingwan decided not to explain further. Despite keeping her distance from Wang Haoran, she felt guilty as thoughts of his handsome face often intruded upon her mind.

Yang Jingwan knew it was wrong but found it impossible to control her emotions.

“Dinner is ready!” Su Lang announced from the kitchen. He had gone out of his way to buy special ingredients, preparing a lavish meal.

The family sat down to eat.

“Here, Jingwan, you worked hard today, have some more!” Li Manli said, serving her daughter food.

“Yes, Jingwan is the family’s great contributor. Selling 19 houses in one day and earning over 1.5 million is much more impressive than me,” Yang Tai praised, clearly proud.

Hearing this acknowledgment, Su Lang’s heart stirred. He knew it was due to Ma Hongsheng’s arrangements that people bought houses from his wife. Still, he chose not to claim any credit and quietly continued eating.

Li Manli shot a glance at Yang Tai, silently scolding him for his loose lips. Could they let Su Lang know that Young Master Wang introduced the clients to Yang Jingwan? Absolutely not!

Yang Tai realized his slip-up too late, regretting his words.

Feeling like a thief caught in the act, Yang Jingwan kept her head down, focusing on her meal.

But eventually, she noticed that Su Lang was not mentioning it at all.

Looking up, Yang Jingwan observed Su Lang. His demeanor was unchanged; he didn’t seem fazed by the earlier conversation.

Yang Jingwan sighed with relief.

Yang Tai and Li Manli exchanged glances, also feeling relieved. They sighed secretly, thinking this clueless son-in-law hadn’t realized anything was off.

“Wife, in half a month, it will be our anniversary of getting our marriage certificate. What gift would you like?” Su Lang asked suddenly after finishing his meal.

“No need,” Yang Jingwan replied coldly. She never took the marriage seriously, so the anniversary meant nothing to her. Besides, she doubted Su Lang could afford any meaningful gift.

“An anniversary is such an important day; a gift is a must. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll make sure to get it for you,” Su Lang assured, full of confidence.

“I said no, aren’t you annoying?” Yang Jingwan snapped, exasperated.

“Su Lang, stop bringing up the marriage certificate. You’ve been married for a year without even hosting a proper ceremony. How can you talk about an anniversary?” Li Manli chimed in disdainfully.

Hearing this, Su Lang found it reasonable. Almost a year had passed since their marriage certificate was granted, yet no wedding banquet was held. An idea struck Su Lang for an appropriate gift for Yang Jingwan.

“Wife, in half a month, it will be our first anniversary since getting our marriage certificate. Let’s hold a grand wedding that will amaze Qingling and let everyone witness our happiness,” Su Lang proposed, his voice filled with affection.

Yang Jingwan remained unphased, internally scoffing. How could Su Lang, this pauper, afford a wedding? She suspected he wanted to use her recent commission for the wedding, presenting it as a gift for her.

Yang Jingwan couldn’t even muster the energy to ridicule him.

“Su Lang, are you making empty promises again?” Li Manli taunted.

“Whether it’s empty promises or not, we’ll see in half a month,” Su Lang replied coolly.

“Fine, but let me make it clear, you can’t use even a penny of Jingwan’s earnings. The wedding expenses are on you!” Li Manli declared firmly.

“Of course,” Su Lang affirmed, already making plans. To host a grand wedding required substantial funds. However, this was not a concern, as Su Lang had over 5 billion at his disposal, untouched for some time to maintain a low profile. For their wedding in half a month, Su Lang decided to use it.

With those resources, he could secure world-class luxury cars, helicopters, and more for a grand wedding. Everything that money could buy for such an event would be arranged.

Besides the extravagance, the guest list was crucial. Thanks to Ma Hongsheng, the richest man in Qingling, invitations to other local tycoons would be easily managed.

Still, having just business folks wasn’t enough for Su Lang. Inviting renowned figures like Yan Wangdi, Xue Shenyi, Guimian Shenxiang, and Tianjizi seemed essential.
