Chapter 31: National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance
Wang Haoran left the school and then took a Cullinan to a towering office building. The entire building belonged to a cosmetics company named “National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance.” The owner of this cosmetics company was none other than Wang Haoran’s stepmother.
The driver went to park the car, while Wang Haoran headed towards the reception desk in the lobby on the first floor. The receptionist was a young woman with outstanding looks. On a scale of 100, she could score around 90. As a cosmetics company, this was standard. After all, the reception area was akin to half the company’s facade. Naturally, the receptionist had to be beautiful.
In Wang Haoran’s memory, he had visited this place no more than three times, and he was very young during those visits. It was impossible for the company’s employees to recognize him. Barging into the company would only get him stopped by security. Although Wang Haoran could fight, it wasn’t necessary. So, he followed the usual procedure and approached the reception desk to have his visit conveyed to his stepmother.
At that moment, there were five or six people in line at the reception. Wang Haoran didn’t want to wait and directly cut to the front of the line. As the prince of this place, it was a joke to queue up at his own company.
Wang Haoran disrupted the order, and the receptionist immediately stopped what she was doing and stared at him seriously with her big eyes. Wang Haoran was taken aback for a moment. Why did this scene feel so familiar? Was the receptionist going to scold him loudly next and even have security escort him out? Then his mother would come down, his identity as the prince would be revealed, and the receptionist would apologize profusely?
“Oh, it’s Young Master Wang. You’re even more handsome in person than in the photos,” the receptionist said with a blossoming smile after scrutinizing Wang Haoran for a few moments.
“You’ve seen my… my photos?” Wang Haoran was a bit surprised.
“Yes, there are photos of you in President Zhen’s office and in every corridor of the company building,” the receptionist explained.
“What?!” Wang Haoran was shocked but quickly understood that it was his stepmother who had them put up. The purpose was to conveniently see her son often.
Indeed, the scenario of being mocked by security or receptionists and then revealing one’s identity to slap faces was exclusive to protagonists. It was impossible for such a thing to happen to a villain like him.
After a brief internal monologue, Wang Haoran said to the receptionist, “I need to see President Zhen. Please convey the message for me.”
“Certainly, Young Master Wang!” The receptionist picked up the phone and dialed a number, then replied, “Young Master Wang, the secretary said President Zhen is in a meeting right now. I’ll take you to her office to wait.”
Ignoring the people in line, the receptionist enthusiastically led the way. Soon, they entered the elevator. The receptionist pressed the button for the 28th floor, and the elevator doors closed, slowly ascending.
“This elevator feels stuffy,” the receptionist suddenly complained.
“Really?”
The elevator had air conditioning and a ventilation system, so Wang Haoran didn’t feel stuffy at all. But he quickly understood why the receptionist felt hot. She loosened her collar and fanned herself with her hand, turning her face away from Wang Haoran. However, she moved closer to him.
A beautiful view was within reach. Should he look or not?
After exiting the elevator, they arrived at the corridor. On the walls of the corridor, every so often, there was a recent photo of Wang Haoran. Anyone who saw him would instantly recognize his identity as the prince.
The corridor was long. Along the way, many professional women passed by, their long legs dazzling to the eyes. As a cosmetics company, the employees were mostly women, and they were all quite attractive. Those with poor looks or mediocre figures weren’t qualified to work here.
The company building was air-conditioned and cool, but these professional women seemed to feel quite hot. Some loosened their clothes a bit, while others pulled their skirts higher. The allure of these professional women was incomparable to the girls at school.
Wang Haoran was grateful that he had seen the world with Wen Jing, allowing him to handle such “dangerous” situations without embarrassment. Otherwise, he would have been truly embarrassed.
After navigating the corridor, they finally arrived outside the CEO’s office.
“Young Master Wang, this is it,” the receptionist said.
“Okay,” Wang Haoran nodded.
“Young Master Wang, could I add you on WeChat?” the receptionist asked, mustering her courage.
Wang Haoran gave her a surprised look.
The receptionist got nervous and quickly explained, “I mean, if you add me on WeChat, you can notify me next time you visit, and I can arrange things in advance.”
“Sure,” Wang Haoran knew her true intention but didn’t expose it. Instead, he took out his phone and opened the QR code.
The receptionist hurriedly scanned it, successfully adding Wang Haoran as a friend.
“My name is Du Ning,” the receptionist said, holding her phone, and then left happily.
Wang Haoran entered the office.
“Hello, Young Master Wang. I’m President Zhen’s secretary,” a woman who was working at her desk suddenly stood up and greeted Wang Haoran respectfully.
Wang Haoran was momentarily stunned and instinctively sized up the woman. Her looks were on par with Du Ning, but she had a better figure. Wearing high heels, she appeared to be over 180 cm tall, with an estimated height of over 172 cm without them. Her curves were slightly exaggerated.
Du Ning scored 90 points, but this woman’s figure added 3 more points, totaling 93!
“My stepmother’s company sure has a lot of beauties…” Wang Haoran thought to himself.
“Would you like something to drink?” the secretary asked.
“A glass of water will do,” Wang Haoran replied, sitting on the sofa in the office.
The secretary quickly poured a glass of water and bent down slightly, saying, “Please wait a moment, Young Master Wang. President Zhen is in a meeting. I’ll check how much longer it will take and come back to inform you.”
Wang Haoran nodded, his gaze inadvertently falling on the name badge nestled between the secretary’s impressive curves. It read: CEO’s Secretary, Fang Xuan.
…
In the meeting room, Wang Haoran’s stepmother, Zhen Li, was discussing business matters with the company’s executives. The meeting had been going on since the morning, and none of the executives had proposed a plan that satisfied Zhen Li. As a result, she appeared quite irritable.
Fang Xuan gently pushed the door open, indicating that she had something to report.
“Didn’t I tell you not to disturb me until the meeting is over? Don’t you understand?” Zhen Li said with a cold face.
“President Zhen, someone is here to see you. It’s your…” Fang Xuan quickly explained.
“It doesn’t matter who it is. Tell them I’m busy and can’t see anyone right now,” Zhen Li said, growing more agitated.
The executives remained silent, not daring to speak.
Zhen Li’s temper flared even more, and she slammed the table, “Are you all mute? Continue, who has a better plan?”
Seeing this, Fang Xuan didn’t dare to provoke her boss further.
“President Zhen, I’ll go tell your son to leave,” Fang Xuan said.
“Go ahead,” Zhen Li replied absentmindedly, but then she suddenly realized, “Wait, what did you just say? My son is here to see me?!”
