Chapter 129: Reaping the Benefits
A van drove into a factory building. Several burly young men with tattooed arms got out of the vehicle and pulled out a breathable burlap sack from the trunk.
“Boss, the person is here,” one of the tattooed youths said to a tall man who had been waiting in the factory.
The man, referred to as the boss, was nearly 1.9 meters tall, with long hair and an aura of roguishness.
“Well done,” Crow praised his subordinate with his signature grating voice, then turned to a wealthy middle-aged man with small eyes beside him, saying, “Mr. Shen, I’ve brought the person for you. It’s time for the final payment, isn’t it?”
“Do you think I’d shortchange you? Let me see the person first; I need to verify,” Shen Kang replied.
“Fair enough,” Crow gestured to his subordinates, “Open the bag and let the boss have a look.”
The subordinates quickly untied the rope around the burlap sack. The unconscious Yan Guishan soon appeared in everyone’s view.
“Is it him, you wretched woman?!” Shen Kang pulled his pale-faced wife, Mrs. Shen, to Yan Guishan’s side for confirmation.
“Yes, it’s him,” Mrs. Shen nodded fearfully.
“You really know how to pick them, don’t you? This guy looks strong. You must have enjoyed it, right?” Shen Kang asked through gritted teeth.
Mrs. Shen dared not make a sound, keeping her head down and barely breathing.
“Why is he unconscious? Wake him up. I want to deal with him while he’s awake to truly vent my anger!” Shen Kang ordered Crow’s men angrily.
Crow’s subordinate immediately fetched a bottle, poured some liquid onto a cloth, and prepared to wake Yan Guishan using a chemical stimulant.
Before they could act, Yan Guishan suddenly opened his eyes.
“Ah!” The subordinate was startled and stumbled backward.
Meanwhile, someone was secretly observing from a hidden spot, eyes fixed on the scene.
“So the King of Soldiers pretended to be captured. I knew he couldn’t be taken down by small fry so easily,” Wang Haoran thought to himself, continuing to watch in secret.
Yan Guishan stood up, coldly surveying his surroundings. He had assumed it was an enemy from abroad, so he pretended to be captured to see who was behind it. To his surprise, it turned out to be a bunch of small-time thugs.
There were about twenty people around, but to Yan Guishan, they were no different from ants.
“Useless fools, embarrassing me. He’s just one person, and you’re afraid of him?” Crow, arrogant as ever, kicked the frightened subordinate and scolded him.
“Crow, have your men capture him and cut off his thing for me!” Shen Kang, filled with rage, glared at Yan Guishan.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Shen, he won’t escape,” Crow replied, signaling his top fighter to take action. In his view, sending one capable subordinate was already giving Yan Guishan too much credit.
However, within seconds, Crow was dumbfounded. His top fighter was knocked out by a single punch from Yan Guishan and lay on the ground, unable to get up.
“Everyone, attack!” Crow, slightly panicked, shouted to his subordinates.
The factory echoed with the sounds of fighting. In less than two minutes, over twenty subordinates were all down, either with broken legs or arms. The cries of pain filled the large factory.
“Factory One, Factory One, send reinforcements!” Crow grabbed a communicator from a subordinate and called for help.
Yan Guishan didn’t stop him, allowing Crow to call for reinforcements. He had been in a foul mood due to recent personal issues and wanted to vent. The twenty or so people on the ground weren’t enough for him.
Crow calling for more people suited Yan Guishan just fine.
Soon, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. Crow’s men, armed with steel pipes, sticks, and knives, rushed into Factory One. There were at least seventy to eighty of them, with more arriving.
Fortunately, the factory was spacious enough; otherwise, it would have been overcrowded.
Yan Guishan, unarmed, charged into the crowd, wreaking havoc. Wherever he went, cries of pain followed. It was like a wolf charging into a flock of sheep, unstoppable.
In less than ten minutes, the ground was littered with people.
“Is there anyone else? Keep calling,” Yan Guishan, still unsatisfied, said to Crow.
Crow’s face turned as pale as paper. The difficulty of dealing with Yan Guishan far exceeded his expectations. His hundred or so subordinates were no match for him. This man was terrifying!
“Crow, where are your people? Call for more!” Shen Kang, also looking grim, urged Crow.
Crow’s face twisted in despair. Although he claimed to have hundreds of subordinates, many were inexperienced and not fully integrated. In reality, almost all his subordinates were here, about a hundred in total. Now, they were all taken down by Yan Guishan, with broken limbs and nearly incapacitated.
…
“King of Soldiers, impressive!” Wang Haoran, observing from the shadows, couldn’t help but silently cheer. He had bet with Zuoqiu Chenyu to take down Crow’s operation. Now, he didn’t even need to lift a finger; Yan Guishan had done it for him.
Yan Guishan had been ruthless, breaking Crow’s subordinates’ limbs like lotus roots. Even if they could be healed, it would take a long recovery period. Crow was left with nothing.
Crow, being so arrogant, must have offended many people. Once word got out that his subordinates were taken down, many would come seeking revenge.
Wang Haoran refocused on Yan Guishan. Crow was no longer a threat. Yan Guishan, however, was enjoying himself too much and needed to be dealt with.
Wang Haoran took out a few needles and quietly approached Yan Guishan.
