Chapter 104: The Wolf King Appears
Qin Kai was initially pleased, but then shook his head, saying, “Perhaps it will be difficult for you to help.”
“There are always mountains beyond mountains, and people beyond people. Although Fengxi Mountain has many experts, they cannot act recklessly. Take Feng Rong, for example. Her martial arts are decent, but if I were to make a move, I could subdue her in three moves,” Xiao Yifeng said confidently.
The old man is a master of the current era. Even though he is alone, he can overshadow 99% of the hidden sects of today. With the old man backing him, Xiao Yifeng has no fear of Fengxi Mountain.
“Thank you, Yifeng. However, the urgent matter now is to find out who is behind the plot to kidnap Yunhan,” Qin Kai said with a hearty laugh.
…
Night fell.
In a bustling bar.
At a table, a man with a neat short haircut was swirling a glass of red wine. He appeared to be about 35 years old, with a faint stubble and a rugged facial contour, exuding a rebellious and unruly demeanor.
He wore a white shirt, and his well-toned muscles were faintly visible. On his neck, where it wasn’t covered by clothing, there was a faintly visible, sinister round scar. Anyone with a keen eye would recognize it as a healed gunshot wound.
Additionally, a wolf fang hung around his neck, adding a wild charm to him. Overall, he wasn’t particularly good looking, but he exuded a masculine allure filled with hormones. For some women, such a rebellious man was irresistibly attractive.
The rebellious man had been sitting there for less than five minutes when several heavily made-up women approached him. However, he had high standards and was picky, dismissing ordinary prospects.
At this moment, the rebellious man was surveying his surroundings. More accurately, he was eyeing the women in the bar. He preferred being the hunter rather than the prey.
Before long, he set his sights on a woman. She appeared to be around 28 years old, not particularly beautiful, with a slightly plump figure. Most young men wouldn’t be interested in such a type, but an experienced man like him knew the charm of such women.
The woman wore a troubled expression, and on her right hand, which held a wine glass, was a large diamond ring. Judging by the size of the diamond, it was worth at least a million.
The rebellious man noticed that seven or eight people had tried to chat her up, only to be rebuffed. He quickly made some judgments about her. She was a respectable woman, not short of money, here to drown her sorrows, not to seek pleasure. Her troubles were likely related to emotional issues.
Leading respectable women astray and persuading fallen women to reform has always been a favorite pastime of charming men throughout history. He was no exception. However, his experience told him not to act immediately but to wait for the right opportunity to approach her. Otherwise, he would only face rejection.
Buzz…
The phone on the table suddenly vibrated. The rebellious man picked it up, glanced at the caller ID, paused for a few seconds, and reluctantly answered the call.
“If you’re calling to ask me to return, you’d better shut up,” the rebellious man said indifferently.
“The bastards from the Lucifer Mercenary Group are too arrogant. In less than three months, the Blood Wolf Mercenary Group you founded might disband, and you’re still so calm?” The voice on the other end was anxious.
“I’m retiring. I don’t want to deal with those matters,” the rebellious man replied calmly.
“I can’t believe such words are coming from the mouth of the Blood Prison Wolf King, the top of the mercenary rankings. Can I ask why?” The voice on the other end was filled with disbelief.
“I’m… I’m getting married soon,” the rebellious man, known as the Blood Prison Wolf King, said.
“Are you kidding? What woman could tame the heart of the Blood Prison Wolf King?”
“It’s an arranged marriage by my elders, and as a junior, I must respect it,” the Wolf King casually explained. In fact, he hadn’t even met the woman, didn’t know her appearance or height, only that her surname was Tang.
“When you were surrounded by over fifty heavily armed teams at Snida Ridge in M Country, you wiped them out single-handedly. Who in the world can stop you? I don’t believe an arranged marriage can bind the Blood Prison Wolf King,” the person on the other end said.
“The title of Blood Prison Wolf King is in the past for me. I am now Yan Guishan, residing in Qingling City,” the Wolf King said, gradually losing patience. “If you’re calling to drink with me, you’re welcome. But if it’s for anything else, prepare to spend three months in a hospital bed. That’s it, no more talking.”
Yan Guishan eagerly hung up the phone because he saw a few hooligans surrounding the woman he had his eye on. No matter how she tried to drive them away, the hooligans wouldn’t leave.
It was time for him to act.
Yan Guishan downed the red wine in his glass, a wicked smile playing on his lips, and then got up to approach the woman he had been watching.
…
During the evening self-study break.
“Yunhan, did you manage to sleep last night without me by your side?” Mu Zhaozhao asked with a playful smile.
“Of course, I did.”
“You’re so afraid of the dark, I thought you wouldn’t be able to sleep all night,” Mu Zhaozhao teased.
“You told me, just lie down, close your eyes, and that’s what I did. I woke up naturally this morning,” Qin Yunhan smiled. She was indeed afraid of the dark, but she slept soundly last night, though it was out of exhaustion.
“Yunhan, I’m so sad. Without me by your side, you still managed to sleep. I tossed and turned all night and barely slept,” Mu Zhaozhao lamented.
“It’s okay. Go home again tonight, and you’ll get used to it after a good night’s sleep,” Qin Yunhan said.
Wang Haoran had convinced her that she would lose that ability within three days. He suggested spending more time together during these days to create beautiful memories for the future. Qin Yunhan gladly agreed. She certainly couldn’t let Mu Zhaozhao ruin things.
“I went to see Grandpa yesterday, so I won’t go back today,” Mu Zhaozhao shook her head.
“Zhaozhao, you should go home tonight. Think about it, we can’t live together forever. One day we’ll have to part, so it’s better to get used to it now, so you won’t be unable to sleep when that day comes,” Qin Yunhan persuaded.
“Yunhan, I don’t want to be apart from you. I want to sleep with you forever,” Mu Zhaozhao said, wrapping her arms around Qin Yunhan’s arm with a smile.
“You’re silly. I’m going to get married someday. How can you sleep with me?” Qin Yunhan poked her silly friend’s forehead with her finger.
Mu Zhaozhao exclaimed, “Yunhan, you’re so young, and you’re already thinking about marriage. Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“You’re laughing at me. Are you planning to never get married?” Qin Yunhan retorted.
“I haven’t thought about those things yet,” Mu Zhaozhao shook her head.
“It’s okay, no rush. You can think about it slowly in the future.”
“But I don’t want to be apart from you,” Mu Zhaozhao said with a frown, but then her eyes lit up as if she had an idea. “Yunhan, how about this? I’ll marry the same person as you in the future.”
“You’re silly. A man can’t marry two wives; it’s illegal,” Qin Yunhan was stunned by Mu Zhaozhao’s thought process.
“He can marry you. I don’t need a certificate. I’ll just be your husband’s concubine,” Mu Zhaozhao giggled.
“You really are…” Qin Yunhan was at a loss for words, both amused and exasperated.
“So, what do you think?” Mu Zhaozhao pressed.
Qin Yunhan was used to her friend’s eccentricities and took it as a joke. “You’re going home tonight, understand?” Qin Yunhan said sternly, getting back to the main topic.
“Okay,” Mu Zhaozhao agreed reluctantly.
